Patrol Division
Police officers perform general duty work in the prevention of crime and enforcement of
Federal, State and Local laws. Duties preformed are of average difficulty and include routine
patrol for the purpose of preventing and detecting crime; enforcement of laws and making
physical arrests; initial investigation; and detailed written reporting of all accidents,
complaints, arrests or incidents. The position involves considerable public contact,
preparation of thourough and complete written reports, reading comprehension, and public
speaking.
