| CODE ENFORCEMENT
The Code Enforcement Department of Chicago Heights is responsible
for the administrative, construction and residential aspects throughout
the city. Code inspectors, building inspectors, and health inspectors
within the department are responsible for keeping the city’s
commercial and housing establishments in compliance with the City
Code. The inspectors perform inspections on existing structures
and construction projects to ensure compliance with applicable codes.
The building inspectors are responsible for reviewing all of the
residential plans for compliance with the CABO 1 & 2 Family
Dwelling Codes.
The department issues occupancy permits, sign permits for rentals,
for sales, portable signs, auction and lease. General permit applications
as well as all new construction permits are available in Code Enforcement
located on the first floor of City Hall at 1601 Chicago Road, Chicago
Heights, IL 60411.
